I am so happy with my refinished bathtub!  Its surface had become pitted and dingy over the years and now it looks brand new.  I found Sharp Refinishing in an Internet search.  I was attracted to their website because of its professional, warm, and friendly nature.  The site is chock full of information.  I used it as a guide to assemble information and photos of my installation to send in to Debbie.  Soon I received a quote and had Jim scheduled to do the job.   

Jim’s approach to the job was meticulous.  I think of it as the difference between “personal pride” professionalism and ”industrial” professionalism.  In the latter case, the installers have little “skin in the game” and are in and out as quickly as possible.  They may not have been trained in detail in all aspects of the job and are sent out unsupervised to do the job, leaving the final finishing to the customer.

On job day, I received a call from Jim saying he was on his way.  He arrived on time and went right to work setting up a ventilation system to keep fumes from reaching the rest of the house.  He stripped off an old refinishing coat and took extra care preparing the surface for the finish coats, including using an industrial filler on the badly pitted bottom of the tub.   

Frequently Jim would come out of the bathroom to check on how the fume control was working.  He had it under control during the entire job.  When he was finished applying the final coat of finish Jim asked me to go in and take a look.  The finishing job was beautiful beyond my expectations, but I was also thoroughly impressed by the detail of masking that had gone into the preparation for applying the finish.  ‘Meticulous’ comes to mind as I recall the vision. 

I had opted for the return visit, and the next day Jim arrived at the agreed-upon time, removed all the masking, and applied caulk around the finished tub.  It now looks like I have a new bathroom and makes me feel like I am in a new home!  I think it would be worth anyone’s while to consider Sharp Refinishing for any of the services they offer.    Dave M in Garland

We had our 60 year-old tub refinished in January of 2010.  It was absolutely beautiful and worth every penny to be rid of the worn, dull, and dreary tub we'd cringed at for years!  I was very impressed with how professionally everything was done, covered, and protected, and at what a pleasure it was have Jim Sharp and Jerry in our home.

I would only suggest that the work be done when temperatures aren't below freezing, which did slow drying time and the ability to grout around the finished tub.  But, this was a beautiful job and extremely well done!   Carol in Dallas

Mark and I want to thank Jim and Debbie for the absolute "magic trick" that Jim performed on our old bathtub that we were sure was going to have to be replaced.  Debbie was a joy to talk to, and set the job up with me by phone and was able to give me a direct estimate without even seeing the tub.

Jim came out on time and had such patience with me asking so many questions.  An unexpected problem came up with some hardware I was going to have to have a plumber come out and look at.  Instead, he replaced all the new hardware himself and saved me a plumber call!  He didn't charge me anything extra and was a perfect gentleman.

Wow!  Fantastic, beautiful, unbelievable!  What can I say?  The work you did on my antique vintage porcelain farm sink far exceeds what I had hoped could be accomplished.  I am incredibly delighted and happy!  The deep gouges in the sink itself are no longer even slightly noticeable.  The worn bottom, gray from the metal showing through, is now white and shiny.  All 4 chipped corners and a dent in the very visible front edge are now repaired beautifully.

And you also understood I did not want it to look 'brand new'.  I wanted some of the character to remain since it is to be installed in the kitchen of an old farmhouse.  It's perfect.  It still retains that character, but the appearance makes you wonder how something that old could still have such an incredible, shiny appearance, and to have suffered no damage.  You truly are a master!  Plus you showed up as promised, charged what was agreed to, and were very funny and personable on top of everything else.

Jim arrived on time and started the work right away, setting up several large box fans with filters attached to catch any dust or spray.  He worked very hard to fill in and sand the damaged areas in the tub. Once he was ready to spray, he carefully covered surfaces which might have been affected by any spray in the air. It took several hours to complete all of the work, but once it was done, the tub looked like it was new.

There was some odor related to the spray, so Jim left a fan, which I used to vent the odor through a window. By the time he returned the next day to remove the protective paper, install the new drain and re-caulk the tub, the odor was completely gone. Jim answered all of my questions and offered tips regarding the care of the tub. He helped me locate the type of replacement drain I should purchase, by phoning local plumbing supply companies to explain what he needed. He was very helpful and informative about the whole process.  We are so pleased with the beautiful tub that we almost hate to use it!  Barbara in Carrollton
